Aftercare
This is a frequently asked question?
Please note that each client’s skin responds differently to cosmetic tattoo treatments.
While the following information serves as a guideline, it is important to pay attention to your skin's individual needs to ensure proper healing and maintenance of your tattoo.
Congratulations on your new tattoo! The healing process is simple and we recommend washing the tattooed area gently 3-5 times a day with lukewarm water and a disposable paper towel, gauze, or cotton round. After patting the area dry, apply a thin layer of the barrier cream provided and keep the area out of the sun. It is essential to avoid applying any cosmetics or sweating for at least 10-14 days and keep the area clean and free to breathe.
During the initial healing period, it is normal for the tattooed area to appear darker and more sharply defined. However, minimal discomfort should be expected, and any scabbing or flaking should be left to fall off naturally.
Please refrain from picking or scratching at the dry skin or flakiness as it can cause scarring and premature loss of pigment. Also, avoid using Vaseline or other petroleum-based products, bleaching, tinting or dyeing the tattooed area for one month following the procedure.
Once healed, sunscreen should be applied to the treated area to prevent fading and discoloration of the pigment. It is important to keep the area away from glycolic acid, microdermabrasion, chemical face peel products, and laser resurfacing or laser hair removal procedures as they can affect the pigment.
Remember, there are no implied or written guarantees if you do not take care of your tattoo. At your follow-up appointment, any changes or additions to the tattoo can be made no sooner than 6-8 weeks later.
